The Floyd Rose FRX (FRTX01000) is a complete 6-string double-locking tremolo system built for surface mounting. It pairs a bridge, saddles, block, and locking nut in one kit — everything needed to add a Floyd Rose to a guitar that was never routed for a recessed system.

Fit starts with two hard limits. First, this is a 6-string unit; it will not accommodate 7 or 8 strings. Second, the FRX is a top-mount design — it sits on the face of the body and uses the guitar's existing bridge stud holes, so no rear route is required. That makes it a candidate for Tune-O-Matic and stopbar-equipped guitars where the stud spacing and neck angle are compatible. The locking nut mounts behind the existing nut position, in place of the truss rod cover, using two wood screws into the headstock. If your guitar already has a recessed Floyd route, this is the wrong system. If your guitar has a non-locking bridge but no route at all, this fits that gap — but neck angle still has to be checked before ordering. On some neck-through and set-neck designs, the angle where the neck meets the body affects clearance for the baseplate; in some cases a shallow channel needs to be relieved into the body. Measure before you order.
