The Floyd Rose FRX (FRTX03000) is a complete six-string, double-locking tremolo system built for top-mount installation. It includes the bridge, saddles, sustain block and locking nut as a single kit. The system is designed for guitars that originally ran a Tune-O-Matic and stopbar setup — it uses the existing stud holes and does not require any body routing for the bridge itself. The locking nut mounts behind the guitar's existing nut, in the truss rod cover position, fixed with two wood screws into the headstock.

Fit is decided by three things before anything else: string count, mounting style and neck angle. This is a six-string unit — it will not work on a seven or eight-string guitar. It is a top-mount system, which means it sits on the surface of the body rather than dropping into a rear-routed cavity. If you are currently running a recessed Floyd-style system, the two are not interchangeable. Neck angle matters here more than it does with most swaps: on some guitars with a shallower neck pitch, the spring tension transfer rod on the base plate can contact the body. If that is your situation, a small channel may need to be routed to clear it — this is bench work, not a bolt-on swap.

The bridge and saddle components are steel, finished in gold. The gold finish means a mixed-hardware guitar needs to be considered before ordering — the entire visible assembly will read gold.
