The Floyd Rose FRX (FRTX02000) is a complete six-string, double-locking tremolo system built for top-mount installation. It includes the bridge, saddles, block and locking nut as one unit. The design exists to solve a specific problem: getting a double-locking Floyd Rose onto a guitar that was built around a Tune-O-Matic and stopbar — without routing a rear cavity. The system uses the existing stud holes. The locking nut mounts behind the guitar's existing nut, in the truss rod cover position, secured with two wood screws.

Fit is decided by two things before anything else: string count and mounting style. This is a six-string unit — it will not carry more strings. More importantly, this is a top-mount system, not a recessed one. If your guitar already has a routed tremolo cavity, this is not the right direction. Conversely, if you are trying to swap a standard Floyd Rose onto a Les Paul, SG or Flying V-style body without bench work, this is the system designed for that job. One known exception: on some guitars of that body style — particularly those with shallower neck angles — the base plate's spring tension transfer rod can contact the body. That may require a small channel to be routed. Measure the neck angle before you order.

The system is steel throughout, finished in black. Steel at this application point matters because the block and base plate are under continuous string tension and spring load — softer alloys walk over time.
