The Floyd Rose FRX (FRTX01000S) is a complete six-string double-locking tremolo kit — bridge, saddles, block and locking nut in one unit — built for guitars that use a Tune-O-Matic and stopbar setup. It mounts to the existing bridge studs on the body surface. No rear routing. The locking nut mounts behind the guitar's existing nut, in the truss rod cover position, secured with two wood screws into existing or new pilot holes.

String count and mounting style are the two decisions that determine fit before anything else. This is a six-string unit — it will not work on a seven- or eight-string guitar. It is a top-mount system, meaning it sits on the surface of the body and uses the existing stud holes; it is not a recessed-cavity system. If your guitar currently has a recessed Floyd Rose, this is a different mounting geometry entirely. If your guitar has a Tune-O-Matic and stopbar with the correct stud spacing, this can be a straight swap. If it does not — a hardtail, a wraparound, or a non-locking trem with different stud geometry — fitting this unit is a modification job, not a parts swap. On some guitars, particularly those with shallower neck angles, a small channel may need to be relieved in the body where the spring tension transfer rod contacts the top. Check neck angle before ordering.

The unit is steel throughout, finished in satin chrome. Steel construction means the block and plate are not subject to the corrosion or dimensional drift that shows up in zinc-alloy alternatives over time.
