Washburn positioned the HD10SCEBS-O-U within its Heritage Series as a dreadnought cutaway acoustic guitar finished in Black Satin. The Heritage Series carried Washburn's focus on traditional acoustic construction, and this model's cutaway configuration provided upper-fret access while retaining the full-bodied projection associated with the dreadnought format.
The Black Satin finish gives the instrument a matte appearance. As a cutaway dreadnought, the body geometry follows the large-waisted, square-shouldered dreadnought platform with a single cutaway bout.
