Washburn built the HD10SCE12-U as part of the Heritage 10/20/30/40 Series, positioning it as a dreadnought cutaway acoustic-electric designed for twelve-string players. The model carried a Natural Gloss finish and sat within a line that balanced traditional acoustic construction with player-accessible features.
The guitar's top was solid Sitka spruce, while the back and sides were mahogany — a pairing Washburn employed across the Heritage Series to balance brightness with warmth. A rosewood fingerboard completed the core tonewoods. The cutaway body allowed upper-fret access uncommon in standard dreadnought configurations, and the twelve-string stringing doubled the standard six courses for the characteristic chorus-like resonance associated with that format. The "E" designation in the model number indicates onboard electronics were fitted.
Owners requiring setup work, nut adjustment for twelve-string spacing, or replacement of electronics components should consult a qualified guitar technician familiar with twelve-string acoustic instruments, as saddle compensation and neck relief on doubled-course guitars carry specific tolerances.

What Stands Out
Keep In Mind
From the people who own them
Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.
Owner photos
Put yours on the record.
The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.
What do you know about this one?
Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
