Washburn built the HD10SCE12-O-U as part of its Heritage Series, positioning it as a 12-string dreadnought cutaway acoustic-electric. The model combined a solid Sitka spruce top with mahogany back, sides, and neck, and was equipped with Fishman electronics for stage-ready amplification.
The top was braced with quarter-sawn scalloped Sitka spruce bracing. The neck carried a two-way truss rod and a Graphtech Nubone nut at 1-7/8" width, with an Ovangkol fretboard and matching Ovangkol bridge. Dot inlays mark the 20-fret board. Tuning is handled by chrome diecast tuners across the 12-string headstock. The onboard Fishman Presys II 301T preamp provides volume control alongside a three-band EQ — bass, mid, and treble — plus a phase switch for feedback management and an integrated chromatic tuner. The rosette is the Heritage pattern; finish is natural gloss throughout. Strings were fitted from the factory as D'Addario EXP light gauge phosphor bronze. The cutaway body allows access to the upper frets, and all hardware is chrome.
