Washburn built the HD100SWCEK-D-U as the cutaway acoustic-electric variant of its Heritage Series D100S dreadnought. The Heritage Series occupied Washburn's all-solid-wood tier, and the HD100SWCEK-D-U added cutaway access to the upper register along with onboard electronics, positioning it above the standard D100S in the line.
The soundboard is torrefied solid Sitka spruce, braced with a Cathedral Peaked Scalloped-X pattern and finished in gloss. Back and sides are solid mahogany. The neck is satin mahogany with walnut rails and a 2-way truss rod; the ebony fretboard runs 20 frets at a 25-1/2" scale with a 1-11/16" bone nut and offset 3mm dot inlays. The ebony bridge accepts a bone saddle. Electronics consist of a Fishman Presys+ Blend EQ preamp with a built-in microphone, under-saddle transducer, tuner, and controls for volume, bass, mid, treble, notch, mic blend, and phase. Graphtech Ratio-tuned tuners with black buttons handle tuning stability at the headstock, which carries a pearl logo. Series-standard appointments include a 2-ring abalone and maple rosette, ivoroid body binding, a Heritage faux-tortoise pickguard, and chrome hardware throughout. The guitar ships strung with D'Addario EXP-16 light phosphor bronze strings.
Owners sourcing replacement parts should note that the ebony bridge and bone nut follow standard dreadnought dimensions — a guitar technician or qualified luthier can confirm precise saddle slot and nut slot measurements before ordering replacements.
STRAIGHT TALK
What Stands Out
Keep In Mind
From the people who own them
Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.
Owner photos
Put yours on the record.
The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.
What do you know about this one?
Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
