The Floyd Rose Speedloader Locking Nut SL517RP is the headstock-end clamp for Speedloader Series tremolo systems. It replaces a worn, cracked or stripped nut that is letting strings slip at the top of the neck, killing your ability to return to pitch after a dive. Speedloader nuts are not interchangeable with standard Floyd Rose locking nuts — this part is built specifically for the Speedloader system and will not work on a conventional Floyd Rose setup.

Fit depends on two numbers, not one. This nut is built for a neck width of 1.75 inches at the nut slot and a fretboard radius of 17 inches. Both have to match your neck. A nut that is the right width but the wrong radius will leave the outer strings sitting proud of the clamping blocks or pinching into the edges — it will buzz or lose clamping pressure regardless of how hard you torque the bolts. Floyd Rose assigns size codes to these nuts, so measure your existing nut slot width and check your fretboard radius before ordering. Do not rely on the guitar model name alone; production tolerances and market variants mean the same model can ship with different nut sizes.

The SL517RP is machined from hardened steel. That matters because a softer nut deforms at the clamping surfaces over time, which is usually what causes the intermittent pitch creep that brings players here in the first place.
