The Floyd Rose SL29RP is a hardened steel locking nut made for the Speedloader series tremolo system. Its job is to clamp the strings at the headstock end so tuning changes made at the bridge stay locked in. This nut is not interchangeable with standard Floyd Rose Original or Floyd Rose Pro systems — it is Speedloader-specific, and fitting the wrong nut means the strings will not seat or clamp correctly.

Two measurements decide whether this nut fits your guitar: the width of the nut slot and the fretboard radius. This part is cut to a neck width of 1.650 in (41.90 mm) and a radius of 9.5 inches. If your slot is narrower or wider, or if your fretboard runs a flatter or tighter radius, this nut will not seat flush. Too flat a radius and the outer strings sit proud of the saddle; too narrow and the strings crowd the edge of the board. Measure the nut slot on your guitar before ordering — do not rely on the model name alone, as neck dimensions varied across production runs.

The nut is machined from hardened steel. That matters because the clamping blocks bear down on the strings under significant torque; softer alloys deform at the contact points over time and the clamp stops holding pitch. If your current nut is stripping out or failing to hold after the fine tuners are zeroed, inspect the clamping block faces before assuming the bridge is at fault.
