The base plate is the structural core of the SpeedLoader tremolo. Every other component — saddles, block, string-lock hardware, tension plates — bolts to or pivots on this part. The knife edges machined into this plate are what the whole system rocks on, and they are the first thing to wear. When a SpeedLoader stops returning to pitch and setup cannot fix it, rounded knife edges on the base plate are the likely cause. This is the replacement.

Fit is not interchangeable across Floyd Rose series. This plate is cut for the SpeedLoader system specifically. Saddles, blocks, string-lock hardware and tension plates from other Floyd Rose series are not dimensioned for this plate and will not fit correctly. Before ordering, confirm your bridge is a SpeedLoader unit — not an Original, Pro, Special or 1000 series. If the series label is missing from your bridge, measure your existing plate and contact us with the guitar's make, model and year before buying.

The plate is hardened steel with a gold finish. Hardened steel resists the knife-edge wear that kills softer alloys, but once the edges are gone, no re-hardening or filing brings them back. This is a replace-not-repair situation, which is why having the correct replacement on hand matters.
