The base plate is the structural core of the SpeedLoader tremolo — the part the saddles, block, and all mounting hardware bolt to. When the knife edges on this plate round over from years of use, the bridge stops returning to pitch. No setup adjustment fixes worn knife edges. The plate gets replaced.

Fit is not flexible. This plate is cut for the SpeedLoader series and its specific string count. Saddles, blocks, string-lock hardware, and tension plates from other Floyd Rose series are not interchangeable with this one. Before ordering, confirm you have a SpeedLoader-equipped guitar. If you are pulling an old plate and fitting this one, check that every component going back onto the new plate came off a SpeedLoader — they do not cross over.

The plate is hardened steel with a chrome finish. Hardened steel resists edge wear longer than softer alloys, but the knife edges will still dull over time, particularly on guitars that see heavy whammy use. Chrome finish matches the original SpeedLoader hardware.
