The base plate is the structural core of a Floyd Rose SpeedLoader tremolo. Everything else — saddles, block, string-lock hardware, tension plates — bolts to this. When a SpeedLoader stops returning to pitch and setup adjustments have been exhausted, the knife edges on this plate are the first thing to inspect. They are the wear surface the pivot studs ride on, and once they round over, no setup correction fixes it. This is the replacement.
Fit is not flexible. The SpeedLoader series runs its own saddle geometry, block dimensions, string-lock hardware and tension plate layout — none of which cross over to standard Floyd Rose or other series plates. Before ordering, confirm your existing unit is a SpeedLoader and that the string count matches. The knife edges on this plate are cut for that system specifically. If your saddles, block or any other hardware did not come off a SpeedLoader, this plate will not work.
Machined from hardened steel with a black finish. Hardened steel resists the knife-edge wear that kills softer plates prematurely — the same failure mode that likely brought you here. This is a genuine Floyd Rose part, part number FRSLTBPBP.
If you are not certain this is the correct plate for your guitar, send us the make, model and year and we will confirm before you order.
