These are the string-lock saddles for the Floyd Rose Special series tremolo. Each saddle clamps the string at the bridge block end, so a stripped clamp screw, a cracked saddle body, or a saddle that no longer holds its height means you are losing tuning stability at the source. This set replaces all six in one go.
Fit is series-specific. Saddles cut for the Special series do not swap with those from other Floyd Rose generations, even when the parts look the same side by side. Beyond that, the set matters: saddles wear at different rates string to string, and dropping a single new saddle into an otherwise worn set throws the radius off across the board. Replace the full set of six so string heights stay consistent from low to high.
The saddles are hardened steel with a satin chrome finish, matching the hardware spec of the Special series bridge. Hardened steel resists the deformation that soft saddle materials develop at the clamping face over time — that deformation is usually what causes a saddle to lose its grip on the string under heavy tremolo use.
If you are not certain this is the correct saddle set for your bridge, send us the make, model and year of your guitar and we will confirm the fit before you order.
