Description

This is the string retainer bar for the Floyd Rose Special tremolo system. It mounts behind the locking nut and pulls the strings down at the correct break angle so they seat properly in the nut blocks. Without enough break angle the strings will pull out of the nut during a hard dive. Screws are included.

Mounting hole spacing on Floyd Rose retainers is series-specific and this part is cut for the Special series. If your guitar runs a different Floyd Rose series — Original, 1000, Pro — the holes will not line up. Match the series on the system already installed, not just the brand name on the headstock. If you are replacing a retainer that has already been shimmed, the new part will sit at the stock height; recheck your break angle after fitting.

The retainer is steel with a gold finish. Gold hardware corrodes faster than chrome when exposed to sweat, so if the old retainer shows pitting at the screw holes rather than stripped threads, clean the seat before fitting this one.

Not sure whether this is the right part for your guitar? Send us the make, model and year and we will check it against what we have on the shelf.
