Description

This is the string retainer bar for the Floyd Rose Special tremolo system. It sits behind the locking nut and pulls the strings down at an angle over it. Without that downward pressure, strings can unseat from the nut under a hard dive or heavy playing. The screws are included.

Fit is not interchangeable across Floyd Rose series. The mounting hole spacing on the Special differs from the Original and other variants, so this retainer is for guitars already fitted with a Floyd Rose Special system. Beyond the mounting pattern, the retainer height determines the break angle: too shallow and strings lift out of the nut; too steep and you add unnecessary friction at that contact point. If a previous owner has shimmed yours, measure what you have before ordering a replacement.

The retainer is steel with a nickel finish. Nickel is softer than chrome, so if you are replacing a corroded or worn bar, check that the finish matches the rest of the hardware before ordering.

If you are not certain this is the right part for your guitar, send us the make, model and year and we will confirm the fit before you buy.
