The string retainer bar that sits between the locking nut and the headstock tuners. Its job is to pull the strings down over the locking nut at the correct break angle — without it, or with one at the wrong height, strings lift out of the nut blocks under a hard dive and the whole system loses its reference point.
Break angle is everything here. Too shallow and the nut cannot grip reliably. The mounting hole spacing on this retainer is specific to the Floyd Rose Original series — it will not drop straight onto a licensed copy or a different Floyd series without modification. Before ordering, confirm the system on your guitar is a Floyd Rose Original, not a Special, 1000 series or third-party unit. If you are unsure, measure your existing retainer's hole spacing and compare it against the replacement rather than assuming.
Steel construction with a gold finish. If your current retainer is chrome or black, the screw hardware will not match — this listing is the gold version only. Screws are included.
Not sure this is the right retainer for your guitar? Send us the make, model and year and we will confirm it fits before you order.
