Description

The tension plate is the rear-facing plate on a floating tremolo that carries the fine tuners. When the plate cracks, strips a fine tuner thread, or goes missing from a parts-sourced build, this is the part that puts the tuners back. This is a Floyd Rose replacement unit cut for the Special series.

Fit is series-specific. The Special tension plate is machined to the geometry of the Special series tremolo block — it is not interchangeable with the Original, 1000, or Pro series. Before ordering, confirm your tremolo is a Floyd Rose Special. If you are rebuilding from loose parts and are not certain which series the baseplate belongs to, measure the block and compare against the Special series spec before committing. A plate from the wrong series will not seat correctly against the block.

This plate is stainless steel. The original Floyd Rose Special shipped with a tension plate that can corrode or crack at the fine tuner bore under hard use. Stainless resists that corrosion, which matters if the guitar sees sweat or sits unplayed for long stretches.

If you are not certain this is the right part for your guitar, send us the make, model and year and we will confirm the fit before you order.
