The tension plate is the component that spans the rear of a Floyd Rose Original 7-string bridge and carries all seven fine tuners. When the original plate cracks, strips a fine tuner thread, or goes missing during a rebuild, this is the direct replacement. It does not change how the bridge behaves — it restores it to factory spec.
Fit depends on two things: series and string count. This plate is cut for the Floyd Rose Original series only, and it is sized for seven strings. It will not drop into a 6-string Original, and it will not fit a Floyd Rose 1000 or Special series even if the string count matches. Before ordering, confirm you are running an Original-series 7-string unit.
The plate is stainless steel. On original plates that have corroded or have one or two stripped fine tuner posts, replacement is usually the more reliable repair — chasing stripped threads in a tension plate rarely holds long-term under repeated tuning load.
If you are not certain this is the correct part for your guitar, send us the make, model and year and we will confirm before you order.
