The Floyd Rose Original R-1 Locking Nut (FRNR1GP) clamps the strings at the headstock end of the neck, removing them from the tuner circuit entirely once the bridge is set. When the nut is locked, tuning stability depends on the bridge and the nut alone — a worn, cracked, or stripped nut puts everything else in that system to waste. This is a direct Floyd Rose Original Series replacement, finished in gold, made from hardened steel.
Fit is determined by two measurements: the width of your nut slot and the radius of your fretboard. Floyd Rose sizes locking nuts by width — R1, R2, R3, R4 and so on — and those designations are not interchangeable. A nut that is too flat for your radius will leave the outer strings sitting proud of the saddle face and buzzing against the clamping block. One that is too narrow will crowd the strings toward the fretboard edge. Neither problem corrects itself. Measure your existing nut before ordering. Do not go by the guitar model name.
The nut body is hardened steel. The gold finish matches Original Series hardware. Compatible with Floyd Rose Original, Pro, Non-Fine Tuner, and Hot Rod Series tremolo systems. Manufactured by Floyd Rose.
If you are not certain the R-1 is the correct width for your neck, send us the make, model, and year of your guitar and we will check it before anything ships.
