Description

The mounting studs and inserts are the pivot points the Floyd Rose Original bridge rocks on. When the knife edges wear into a soft or pitted stud, the bridge cannot return to a consistent pivot position and tuning stability goes with it. This is a set of two hardened steel studs and their corresponding body inserts, finished in gold, made for the Floyd Rose Original series.

Whether this set fits your guitar comes down to one thing: the insert already pressed into your body. Stud and insert diameters are not interchangeable across Floyd Rose series, and metric and imperial body routes take different inserts. You cannot determine fit from the bridge alone — the insert in the body is what decides. Pulling a factory insert to check or replace it is a bench job; if you have not done it before, plan accordingly.

The studs are hardened steel. Hardened steel resists the knife-edge wear that eats soft pivot points over time. If your current studs show a groove or flat where the knife edges contact, the wear is already affecting return-to-pitch and the inserts should be inspected at the same time.

If you are not certain this is the correct set for your guitar, send us the make, model, and year and we will confirm before you order.
