Description

These are the pivot studs and threaded body inserts the Floyd Rose Original bridge rocks on. When the knife edges lose their reference point — because a stud is worn, corroded, or swapped for the wrong spec — the bridge cannot return to the same position after a dive. Replacing the studs is the first check before condemning a knife edge or a spring setup. This set covers both studs and their matching inserts, hardened steel, chrome finish, made in Germany.

Whether this set fits your guitar comes down to the insert already pressed into the body. Stud and insert diameters are not consistent across Floyd Rose series, and metric and imperial bodies use different specs entirely. The existing insert decides what stud thread engages it — not the bridge, not the body wood. If you are not certain which series your current inserts are, measure before ordering. Pulling a pressed insert to swap for a different diameter is a bench job; driving the wrong stud in will strip the insert.

The studs are hardened steel. That matters because the knife edges bear directly on the stud crown under full spring tension. A soft or pitted stud wears the knife edges faster and introduces the rocking slop that kills tuning stability. Chrome finish on this set matches standard Original series hardware.

If you are not certain this is the correct set for your guitar, send us the make, model and year and we will confirm the fit before you order.
