Description

The mounting studs and inserts are the pivot point the entire bridge rocks on. When the knife edges are worn or the bridge won't return to pitch and you've already checked the nut and springs, the studs are the next place to look. This is the Floyd Rose Original series replacement set — two studs, two inserts, hardened steel, black finish, part number FRBMMSIBP.

Whether these fit your guitar comes down to one thing: the insert already pressed into your body. Stud and insert diameters are not interchangeable across series or between metric and imperial bodies. The Original series stud is sized for the Original series insert. If the insert in your guitar is from a different series or a licensed variant built to different dimensions, this stud will not seat correctly, and a stud that doesn't seat correctly will not hold pitch. Pulling an existing insert to check or replace it is a bench job — it is not a hand-tight swap. Measure or confirm your existing insert before ordering.

The studs are hardened steel. The failure mode on original-spec studs is usually a worn contact face where the knife edge rides, not outright breakage — but a pitted or galled stud surface will kill return-to-pitch just as effectively as a sprung claw or a sticky nut.

If you're not certain this is the correct insert diameter for your body, send us the make, model and year of your guitar and we'll confirm the fit before you order.
