Description

These are the pivot studs and body inserts the Floyd Rose 1000 Series bridge rocks on. When the knife edges wear into a soft or corroded stud, the bridge loses its return-to-pitch consistency regardless of spring tension or fine-tuner adjustment. Replacing the studs and inserts restores the contact geometry the bridge depends on. This is a set of two — one per side — in gold-finished hardened steel, matching the 1000 Series finish line.

The insert already pressed into your body is the deciding factor here, not the bridge. Stud and insert diameters vary between Floyd Rose series and between metric and imperial-routed bodies. If the insert in your guitar is not the correct 1000 Series metric insert, this stud will not thread correctly and the bridge will not sit at the right height. Do not assume series compatibility from the bridge alone. If you are not certain which insert is in your body, measure before ordering — pulling an insert to find out is a bench job and risks the surrounding wood.

The studs are hardened steel. That matters because repeated knife-edge contact work-hardens the contact point on a soft stud unevenly, which is one of the more common sources of tuning drift that gets blamed on the springs or the nut. Hard steel holds the geometry longer.

If you are unsure whether this is the correct set for your guitar, send us the make, model and year and we will confirm the fit before you order.
