Description

These are the pivot studs and body inserts the Floyd Rose 1000 Series bridge rocks on. The knife edges make contact here on every bend and return — when the studs are worn, corroded, or mismatched to the knife edges, the bridge cannot return to a consistent pivot point and tuning stability goes with it. This set replaces both studs and both inserts, hardened steel, black finish, FR1BMMSB.

The insert already pressed into your body determines what stud will fit. Stud and insert diameters are not consistent across Floyd Rose series, and metric and imperial bodies use different dimensions. If the insert in your guitar does not match this 1000 Series spec, this stud will not seat correctly regardless of how the bridge looks on the surface. Pulling a pressed insert is a bench job — measure or identify your current insert before ordering, not after.

These are hardened steel. The point of hardened material here is resistance to the groove the knife edges cut into the stud over years of use. A soft or worn stud accelerates that groove and makes the tuning problem progressively worse. If you can already see a notch on your current studs, check the knife edges on the bridge plate at the same time.

If you are not certain this is the correct series for your guitar, send us the make, model, and year and we will check it against what we have on the bench.
