Description

The sustain block is the brass mass that hangs below the base plate and transfers string energy into the body. This is the Floyd Rose Original replacement block, nickel-plated brass, 42mm. When a block cracks, corrodes, or gets swapped out during a previous repair, this is the part that brings an Original series bridge back to factory spec.

Fit comes down to two things: cavity clearance and screw pattern. The block has to fit the depth of your body rout — too long and it hits the cavity floor before the bridge levels out, cutting off your dive range; too short and the springs pull at the wrong angle and tuning stability goes with it. The mounting screws also have to line up with the base plate. Measure your existing block and check your cavity depth before ordering. The 42mm dimension here refers to block size — confirm that figure matches what your bridge and body need.

This block is nickel-plated brass. Brass is denser than steel and zinc, which affects how the attack transfers through the body. If you are replacing a worn or damaged block on an Original series bridge, matching the original material keeps the response consistent with what the guitar was set up around.

If you are not certain this is the right block for your bridge, send us the make, model, and year of your guitar and we will confirm the fit before you order.
