The FROSTB42 is a 42mm tremolo block for Floyd Rose Original series bridges, machined from granite. The sustain block sits below the base plate and takes the string tension through the body — it is the mechanical core of the whole system. This one replaces a worn steel block or fits a new build where the player wants granite's different attack character.
Before ordering, measure your cavity clearance and check your base plate's mounting screw pattern. Block length has to clear the body cavity — too long and the block bottoms out mid-dive, too short and the spring angle is wrong. The mounting screw pattern has to match the Original series base plate this block is drilled for. Granite changes how the block responds acoustically; it does not change whether it physically clears your guitar.
The block is cut from granite. Granite is a hard, dense natural stone with no machined alloy fill — the material is what it is out of the ground. It installs in place of the factory steel block using the existing mounting screw positions. Stainless steel mounting screws are included. Do not use a drill when driving the screws in — start the centre screw first, then the outer screws, and work the pattern down gradually.
If you are not certain this block fits your guitar, send us the make, model and year and we will check it before you order.
