Description

The FROSTB37 is a 37mm sustain block for Floyd Rose Original series tremolos, machined from Volcano Black Absolute Granite. It replaces the steel or zinc block that hangs below the base plate and transfers string vibration into the body through the spring claw assembly. Granite has a different density and crystalline structure than cast metal, which changes the character of the attack and sustain. The block ships with stainless steel mounting screws.

Before ordering, measure your body cavity and your current block. The block length has to clear the cavity floor through the full range of arm travel — too long and the block bottoms out mid-dive; too short and the springs sit at the wrong angle. The mounting screw pattern also has to match your Floyd Rose Original base plate. If your bridge is a Floyd Rose Original series, the plate geometry should correspond, but confirm before you order. Material choice does not affect whether the block clears the cavity — that is a geometry question you answer with a ruler.

Granite is brittle compared to steel. Do not use a drill when mounting this block. Start the centre screw by hand, then the outer screws, and repeat the pattern to draw it down evenly. The anchors are a soft lead alloy — do not overtighten. Clean with a dry microfibre cloth; no ammonia-based products.

If you are not certain this block fits your guitar, send us the make, model and year and we will tell you whether it works before you buy.
