This is a brass sustain block for Floyd Rose Original series tremolos. It replaces the steel block that came with your bridge. Brass transfers energy differently than steel — the attack is fuller in the midrange, and note decay stretches out. Those are changes in character, not marketing claims: the material is denser and it rings at a different frequency. The part number is FROFTB32. Size is 32mm.

Fit is decided by two things, not one. First, block length has to clear the spring cavity: if the block bottoms out against the body during a dive, the arm stops short; if it sits too shallow, the springs pull at the wrong angle and the bridge will not return to pitch. This block is described in the source listing as "fat" — larger than a stock sustain block — so a floating setup may need routing to clear the cavity. Measure your cavity before ordering. Second, the mounting screw pattern on the block has to match the holes in your base plate. It is designed for the Floyd Rose Original series base plate. The 1000 Series and Special 7-String tremolos use a different mounting hole spacing and are not compatible; the 1000 Series Pro 7-String is compatible.

Brass work-hardens slowly at the string-anchor face, so the block tends to outlast the steel version in that specific wear zone. The tradeoff is mass — the bridge will sit and move slightly differently than it did with the factory block, which is worth knowing before the swap.
