A complete double-locking tremolo kit built for 7-string guitars. The FRTSSS1000S ships as a full system — bridge, saddles, sustain block, locking nut, springs and claw, mounting studs, and all installation hardware in one box. Nothing else to source. The Special Series sits below Floyd Rose's Original in the material spec: the saddles and sustain block are zinc alloy rather than steel and brass respectively, and the base plate is spot-hardened steel. The arm and all springs are steel. Finish is Satin Chrome.
String count and mounting style are the decisions that matter before you order. This is a 7-string unit — it will not carry six strings or eight. Beyond string count, a recessed Floyd Rose installation requires a rear cavity routed into the body, correct stud spacing, and a neck angle that works with the bridge height. If your guitar already runs a recessed double-locking system, this may drop in with minimal work. If it is currently fitted with a non-locking bridge — or no rear route at all — fitting this system is a routing job and a setup from scratch, not a straight parts swap. Measure your existing stud spacing and confirm the body has the rear cavity before ordering.
The zinc alloy block performs differently from brass under high-gain, high-dive use. If you are replacing a brass-block system and tone is the reason, note the material difference. The Special Series is a cost-to-entry compromise, not a like-for-like block swap in that respect. For many players running moderate stage use, the zinc spec holds up without issue.
