The Floyd Rose Special FRTSSS1000 is a complete double-locking 7-string tremolo kit — bridge, saddles, sustain block, locking nut, springs, claw, mounting studs, and all installation hardware in one box. It is the Special Series version of the Floyd Rose design, manufactured in Korea for Floyd Rose. The saddles and sustain block are zinc alloy rather than steel and brass; the baseplate, tremolo arm, screws, and springs are steel. The kit is finished in chrome.
String count and mounting route determine whether this part fits before anything else. This is a 7-string unit — it will not work on a 6-string or 8-string guitar. Beyond string count, the existing route in your body decides the install: a recessed-mount guitar needs a rear cavity that matches this system's block depth and geometry, and stud spacing has to align. A top-mount guitar has different requirements entirely. If you are replacing a non-locking bridge with this system, expect routing work — it is not a straight swap. Measure your cavity, stud spacing, and neck angle before ordering.
The zinc alloy block and saddles are the material trade-off that puts this in the Special Series rather than the Original line. Zinc alloy machines and holds its edge under normal use, but it is softer than brass or steel under sustained load or aggressive playing. If the original block on your guitar failed at the knife edge or at the string saddle contact points, note the material difference before deciding this is the right replacement.
