The Floyd Rose Special FRTSSS2000S is a complete 7-string double-locking tremolo kit — bridge, saddles, sustain block, locking nut, springs, claw, mounting studs, and all installation hardware in one box. The Special series is manufactured in Korea for Floyd Rose. Where the Original uses steel saddles and a brass block, the Special runs zinc alloy saddles and a zinc alloy sustain block. The base plate is spot-hardened steel; the arm, screws, and springs are steel. Finish is satin black.
String count and mounting geometry are the deciding factors before you order. This is a 7-string unit — it will not work on a 6-string or 8-string guitar. Beyond string count, a recessed Floyd-style system requires a rear cavity route and a specific stud spacing and neck angle. If your guitar already has a recessed double-locking route sized for a 7-string Floyd, this may drop in. If you are swapping out a non-locking bridge, expect routing work — that is a bench job, not a parts swap. Measure your existing stud spacing and check your cavity depth before purchasing.
The zinc alloy block and saddles are a known trade of the Special series versus the Original. Zinc alloy is lighter than brass and less dense than steel. If you are replacing a worn or corroded set of saddles or a damaged block on an existing Special-series 7-string, these materials are a like-for-like match.
