A complete double-locking tremolo kit in satin black from Floyd Rose's Special series. Everything that needs to go on the guitar ships together: bridge plate, saddles, sustain block, locking nut, springs and claw, mounting studs, and installation hardware. The Special series is manufactured in Korea exclusively for Floyd Rose and shares the same fundamental design as the Original, with two material differences — the saddles and sustain block are zinc alloy rather than steel and brass respectively. The base plate is spot-hardened steel; the arm and springs are steel.
String count and routing are the two hard stops before anything else matters. This is a 6-string unit — it will not work on a 7- or 8-string guitar. Beyond that, a double-locking system like this one needs a rear body route for the block and spring cavity, a top-route or existing Floyd-pattern stud spacing in the body, and a neck angle that puts the strings at the right height off the body once the bridge is sitting at its set point. If you are replacing a non-locking bridge, assume routing work is required. Measure your existing stud spacing and cavity dimensions before ordering.
The zinc alloy block is the main trade-off against brass. Zinc is lighter and has different resonance characteristics. It is a common replacement target on Special-series bridges, and the block on this unit can be swapped independently if that matters to your build.
