This is a complete rebuild kit for a 7-string floating tremolo — bridge, locking nut, springs and claw, mounting studs, and all installation hardware in one box. The Hot Rod series shares the same footprint as the Floyd Rose Original 7-string, with two upgrades from that baseline: a Fat Brass block in place of the standard block, and stainless steel screws throughout. The block is brass; the base plate, saddles, and springs are hardened or coiled steel; the arm is stainless. The bridge is made in Germany; the stainless screws are made in the USA.
Fit is decided by what is already routed and studded in your guitar. This kit only drops in without modification if the existing bridge is an Original-series 7-string with matching stud spacing and cavity dimensions. If you are coming from a different series, a different string count, or a different manufacturer's geometry, the dimensions may not align. Measure the stud spacing and check your cavity depth against the block before ordering — a mismatch here means routing, not just a swap.
The Fat Brass block is the most common reason players choose this kit over a straight Original replacement. Brass runs heavier and denser than the zinc alloy blocks found in lower-tier systems. Whether that matters to your particular guitar is something only your ear and your body routing can settle — but the block swap is where the Hot Rod designation comes from. The stainless saddle screws resist corrosion and strip less readily than plated steel equivalents under repeated saddle adjustments.
