A complete rebuild kit for a 7-string floating tremolo. This is the Floyd Rose Original Hot Rod series in satin chrome — one box covers the bridge, locking nut, springs and claw, mounting studs, and all installation hardware. The double-locking design locks the strings at both the nut and the bridge saddles, which is the mechanism that lets the system return to pitch after hard dive-bomb use. The Hot Rod series shares its footprint with the Floyd Rose Original 7-String and adds a fat brass sustain block and stainless steel screws over the base Original spec. Base plate and saddles are hardened steel. The tremolo is made in Germany; the stainless steel screws are made in the USA.
Fit is the hard part. This kit drops in only if the guitar already carries a bridge with the same series footprint and the same 7-string stud spacing. If the dimensions do not match, installing this is a routing and re-drilling job, not a parts swap. Before ordering, pull your existing bridge and check what is actually in there — series, string count, and stud spacing all have to line up. Do not assume two Floyd Rose bridges share dimensions just because they share a brand name.
The brass block is the upgrade that most people buying into the Hot Rod series are after. Brass damps differently than the cast zinc blocks found on budget-tier units, and the change is audible on clean settings. The stainless steel screws resist the corrosion that causes saddle screws to seize, which is a common reason rebuild kits get ordered in the first place.
