This is a complete rebuild kit for a 7-string floating tremolo — bridge, locking nut, springs and claw, mounting studs, and all installation hardware in one box. The Hot Rod series sits above the standard Original in spec: the block is a fat brass unit rather than the stock zinc, the screws are stainless steel, and the base plate and saddles are hardened steel. Made in Germany, with the stainless screws made in the USA. One kit covers everything needed to go from a stripped or worn-out system to a fully functional double-locking setup.
Fit is the deciding factor before you order. This kit shares the footprint of the Floyd Rose Original 7-String series — same string count, same series dimensions, same stud spacing. If your guitar currently runs a different series, a different manufacturer's bridge, or a 6-string unit, this is not a drop-in swap. Putting a kit with different dimensions into an existing rout means woodwork, not a parts swap. Pull the existing bridge, identify the series and stud spacing, and confirm they match before ordering.
The fat brass block is the meaningful difference from a standard Original rebuild. Brass is denser than the zinc block it replaces, which changes how the block couples to the body. If your existing system has a zinc block and you are replacing like-for-like, note that this kit is not that — it is a spec step up. The stainless steel screws resist corrosion and are harder than the plated fasteners found in lower-tier kits, which matters on saddle and fine-tuner contact points that see regular adjustment.
