A complete double-locking tremolo system built for 7-string electric guitars. The kit ships with the bridge, locking nut, springs and claw, mounting studs, and all hardware required for installation. The locking nut clamps the strings at the headstock; the bridge locks them at the saddle. Between the two lock points, the string length is sealed. That is why the bridge can return to pitch after heavy use of the arm.
String count and mounting style are the two things that decide whether this unit fits your guitar. This is a 7-string system — it will not accommodate a 6-string or 8-string spacing. Beyond that, the guitar's existing body route, stud spacing, and neck angle all have to line up. If your guitar currently has a recessed tremolo, it has a rear cavity; a top-mount body does not. Those cavities are not interchangeable. If you are replacing a non-locking bridge with a double-locking system for the first time, expect routing work before installation. Measure your stud spacing and check your cavity depth against this unit before ordering.
The baseplate and saddles are hardened steel. The tremolo block is nickel-plated brass. The arm is stainless steel. The springs are coiled steel. The finish on this unit is black throughout.
