The Floyd Rose FRTS500 is a complete 7-string Original Series double-locking tremolo system in black nickel. It ships as a full kit: bridge, saddles, block, locking nut, springs and claw, mounting studs, and installation hardware. The double-locking design clamps the strings at both the nut and the saddles, which takes the tuning load off the string between those two points. When both locks are tight, the bridge can move freely without the guitar drifting out of tune.
String count and mounting style decide whether this part fits before anything else. This is a 7-string unit — it will not work on a 6-string or 8-string guitar. Beyond string count, the guitar's existing route, stud spacing, and neck angle all have to be right. A recessed Floyd-style system sits in a cavity routed into the body; a top-mount does not. If your guitar is currently strung with a non-locking bridge, replacing it with this system is a routing job, not a drop-in swap. Measure the cavity and stud spacing against this unit before ordering.
The base plate and saddles are hardened steel. The block is nickel-plated brass. The tremolo arm is stainless steel, springs are coiled steel, and the screws are hardened steel. Finish is black nickel throughout. The block length has to clear the rear cavity — measure your existing route before fitting.
