The Floyd Rose Original is a complete double-locking tremolo system. It locks the strings at the nut and at the bridge, which is how it holds pitch under heavy use — the string is fixed at both ends, so it cannot go flat when you push the arm down or pull it up. This unit is finished in black and comes with everything needed to install a working system: bridge, locking nut, springs and claw, mounting studs, and all associated hardware.
String count and mounting style decide whether this fits your guitar. This is a 6-string unit — it will not work on a 7 or 8-string instrument. Beyond that, the existing route in your guitar body is the real constraint. A recessed installation needs a rear cavity; a top-mount does not. Stud spacing and neck angle also have to line up. If you are replacing a non-locking bridge with this system, that is a routing job — measure the cavity, stud spread and neck pitch before ordering. If you are unsure, measure before you buy.
The base plate and saddles are hardened steel. The tremolo block is nickel-plated brass. The arm is stainless steel. Screws and springs are steel. These are the materials that determine how the block transfers, and why the saddle-to-plate tolerance matters on a double-locking design — a soft saddle will not hold the string clamp under repeated use the way hardened steel does.
