The FRTS2000 is Floyd Rose's Special Series double-locking tremolo kit in black, built for 6-string guitars. The kit ships complete: bridge plate, saddles, sustain block, locking nut, springs and claw, mounting studs, and the hardware needed for installation. Nothing else to source before you can bolt it in. The Special Series is manufactured in Korea for Floyd Rose to Original Floyd Rose design specifications. Where the Original uses steel saddles and a brass sustain block, the Special uses zinc alloy for both — that is the material trade-off between the two lines.
String count and mounting style are the two things that decide whether this unit fits your guitar before anything else. This is a 6-string bridge; it will not work on a 7- or 8-string instrument. Beyond that, a double-locking recessed system requires a rear cavity route, a specific stud spacing, and a neck angle matched to the bridge height. If you are replacing a non-locking bridge, that is a routing job. If you are replacing an existing Floyd-style unit, check that your existing stud spacing and cavity dimensions match this system before ordering — do not assume they do.
The base plate is spot-hardened steel. Saddles and sustain block are zinc alloy. The tremolo arm, screws, and springs are steel. The black finish runs across the system. Zinc alloy blocks are lighter than brass and respond differently under heavy use; if your existing guitar already runs a Special-series unit and you are replacing like for like, the block material is not a variable.
