This kit rebuilds a 6-string double-locking floating tremolo in one order. It ships as a complete system — bridge, locking nut, springs and claw, mounting studs, and all installation hardware. The bridge locks at the saddles; the locking nut locks at the headstock. Once both are clamped down, the strings are mechanically isolated from the tuners. That is the whole point of the design, and it only holds pitch if both ends lock. The Hot Rod series adds a Fat Brass block and stainless steel screws over the standard Original spec. The baseplate and saddles are hardened steel. The tremolo arm is stainless steel. The bridge itself is made in Germany; the screws are made in the USA.
This kit shares the footprint of the Floyd Rose Original series. It is only a direct swap if what is already in the guitar matches those same dimensions — same stud spacing, same routing, same string count. If you are replacing a different series, a different brand, or an OEM unit built to different dimensions, this is not a drop-in. Fitting it becomes a woodworking job, not a parts swap. Measure what is in the guitar before ordering.
The Fat Brass block is the primary material difference from a stock Original kit. Brass damps differently than steel and changes the feel of the arm response. If you are chasing a specific block material, confirm the block spec matches what you are after before the kit goes in the cart.
