A complete double-locking tremolo system built to the original 1984 design spec. The kit ships with the bridge, locking nut, springs and claw, mounting studs, and all installation hardware — everything needed to put a functioning Floyd Rose system on a guitar. The block is solid brass with a nickel-plate finish. Fine tuners are brass. The swing arm locks into the housing rather than threading in. Bridge plate and saddles are hardened steel. The tremolo arm is stainless steel.
String count and mounting style are what decide whether this part fits your guitar. This is a 6-string unit — it will not accommodate 7 or 8 strings. Beyond string count, the guitar's existing body route, stud spacing, and neck angle all have to line up. A guitar already routed for a recessed Floyd Rose may accept this as a direct replacement; a guitar with a flat-mount or non-recessed bridge route will need bench work before this system can be fitted correctly. Swapping out a non-locking bridge for a double-locking system is a routing job, not a parts swap — measure and plan before ordering.
The brass block and brass fine tuners are a departure from the zinc and pot-metal components that appeared on later production runs. The hardened steel saddles resist the wear that string-changes and heavy use put on softer materials. The locked swing arm eliminates the rattle that comes from a threaded arm that has loosened over time.
