The Floyd Rose Original is a complete double-locking tremolo system. One unit covers the full installation: bridge plate, saddles, tremolo block, locking nut, springs and claw, mounting studs, and all fasteners. The double-locking design clamps the strings at the nut and at the saddles, removing the string behind the lock from the tuning equation. That is the mechanism that keeps a Floyd-equipped guitar in tune through hard use.
Before ordering, the guitar decides whether this fits — not the other way around. This is a 6-string unit; it will not work on a 7- or 8-string neck. Beyond string count, the existing body route is the critical variable. A recessed installation requires a rear cavity and a specific stud spacing; a top-mount does not. If you are replacing a non-locking bridge, plan for routing work — the body almost certainly needs modification to accept the block and allow full range of motion. Materials in this kit: hardened steel base plate, hardened steel saddles, nickel-plated brass tremolo block, stainless steel arm, hardened steel screws, coiled steel springs. The brass block is the part most commonly swapped on worn units — its mass and density affect sustain and the feel of the arm. This kit ships with the block intact as part of the original spec.
