A complete double-locking tremolo kit for left-handed 6-string guitars. The FRT100L ships as a full system: bridge plate, saddles, tremolo block, locking nut, springs, claw, mounting studs, and installation hardware. One order covers everything needed to build the installation from scratch — nothing sourced separately. The block is nickel-plated brass, the base plate, saddles and screws are hardened steel, the arm is stainless steel, and the springs are coiled steel. Finish is chrome.
Fit is decided by three things before anything else. First, string count: this is a 6-string unit and it will not span 7 or 8 strings. Second, handedness: the FRT100L is mirrored for left-handed instruments — it is not the same part as the right-hand Original and cannot be swapped for one. Third, routing: a recessed double-locking system needs a rear cavity and a specific top-route; a guitar currently running a non-locking or top-mount bridge will need bench work before this drops in. Stud spacing and neck angle also have to match the existing installation. If the guitar has never had a Floyd Rose in it, this is a routing job, not a bolt-on swap.
The Original series is manufactured in Germany from precision-machined steel. The double-locking design clamps string tension at both the nut and the bridge saddles independently, which is what keeps the system in tune under hard pitch shifts — if either lock point has worn threads or a cracked block, the system will not return to pitch regardless of spring tension. If that is the failure you are chasing, confirm which component has failed before ordering a complete kit.
