A complete double-locking tremolo kit finished in black. This is the Floyd Rose Original 1984 series — a reissue built to the original 1984 design spec, not a cost-reduced derivative. The kit ships with the bridge, locking nut, springs and claw, mounting studs, and all installation hardware. The block is solid brass, nickel-plated. The base plate and saddles are hardened steel. The arm is stainless steel. Fine tuners are brass in the old-style housing, and the arm locks into the housing rather than threading freely. Nothing is missing from the box.
Two things decide whether this part fits your guitar before anything else: string count and how your bridge mounts. This is a 6-string unit — it will not work on a 7- or 8-string. Beyond that, a recessed Floyd Rose system requires a rear route in the body. If your guitar currently has a hard-tail or a non-locking vibrato, fitting this system is a routing job. The existing stud spacing, body route dimensions and neck angle all have to be checked against this unit before ordering. If you are replacing a worn Floyd Rose Original with the same recess and stud layout, the swap is straightforward. If you are converting from another bridge type, measure the cavity and confirm the route before committing.
The brass block is the detail most likely to matter if you are replacing a zinc-block version of the same system. Brass runs heavier and the sustain character changes noticeably. The nickel plating on the block is cosmetic; it does not change the acoustic behaviour. The old-style locking arm socket is a specific fit — it is not interchangeable with the later thread-in style.
If you are not certain this is the right unit for your guitar, send us the make, model and year and we will tell you what the route looks like and whether this drops in.
