Description

The Floyd Rose FRX (FRTX02000S) is a complete 6-string double-locking tremolo system designed to surface-mount on guitars that use a Tune-O-Matic and stopbar configuration. It locks at the bridge and at the nut, so once you tune up and clamp down, the strings have nowhere to go. The kit includes the bridge unit and locking nut as a matched set.

Fit starts with two hard constraints. First, this is a 6-string unit — it will not work on a 7- or 8-string guitar. Second, this is a top-mount system. It is engineered specifically to drop onto existing Tune-O-Matic stud holes without rear routing. If your guitar already has a recessed Floyd Rose route, this is not your part. If you are swapping off a non-locking, non-Tune-O-Matic bridge, stop and measure before ordering — the stud spacing and neck angle on your specific guitar determine whether this is a direct fit or a modification job. On some guitars with shallower neck angles, a small channel may need to be relieved in the body to clear the base plate. The locking nut mounts in place of the truss rod cover using two wood screws, so check that your headstock has clearance for that position.

The system is steel throughout, finished in satin black. Steel blocks transfer vibration more directly than zinc alloy alternatives and hold up better to the repeated stress of hard use over time.

If you are not certain this fits your guitar, send us the make, model and year and we will tell you what you are looking at before you order.
