The Floyd Rose FRX is a complete double-locking tremolo system — bridge, saddles, block and locking nut in one kit — built for guitars that would otherwise need a full body rout to accept a standard recessed Floyd Rose. It mounts to the existing Tune-O-Matic stud holes on the top of the body. No rear cavity route required. The locking nut installs behind the guitar's existing nut, in the truss rod cover position, and is secured with two wood screws into the existing holes on either side.
Fit starts with two hard constraints. First, this is a 6-string unit — it will not work on a 7- or 8-string guitar. Second, top-mount is not interchangeable with recessed: if your guitar already has a rear-routed cavity for a recessed system, the FRX is not a straight swap. For guitars with Tune-O-Matic and stopbar hardware, the stud spacing and neck angle carry the fit. Neck angle matters here — on some guitars with a shallow neck angle, the spring tension transfer rod on the baseplate can contact the body and may require a small channel to clear. Measure your neck angle before ordering.
The bridge, saddles and block are steel. The finish is Antique Silver. Part number is FRTX06000, series FRX.
