The Floyd Rose FRX (FRTX07000) is a complete six-string, double-locking tremolo system built for top-mount installation. It ships as a full kit — bridge, saddles, block and locking nut together. The FRX was designed specifically to replace a Tune-O-Matic and stopbar combination: it drops onto the existing mounting studs without rear routing. The locking nut mounts behind the guitar's existing nut, in the truss rod cover position, secured with two wood screws into the existing wood.

Fit is decided by three things before anything else. First, this is a six-string unit — it will not work on a seven or eight-string guitar. Second, this is a top-mount system: it does not require a rear cavity route, and it cannot substitute for a recessed Floyd Rose without significant body modification. Third, neck angle matters. On some guitars with a shallower neck angle, the spring tension transfer rod on the base plate can contact the body. When that happens, a small channel has to be routed to clear it — this is bench work, not a straight swap. Measure the neck angle on your specific guitar before ordering.

The unit is steel throughout, finished in antique bronze. Steel sustain blocks are harder than the zinc alloy used in some replacement units and hold the saddle screw threads longer under repeated string changes.
