The base plate is the structural core of the Floyd Rose 1000 Series tremolo — the casting that carries the saddles, the sustain block, the mounting hardware and everything else. When this part fails, the whole bridge fails. The failure mode is the knife edges: those two hardened ridges are where the plate pivots on the posts, and once they round over from wear or corrosion, the bridge stops returning to centre. No spring adjustment or post-height tweak fixes blunted knife edges. The plate gets replaced.
Fit is not flexible. This plate is cut and drilled for the 1000 Series specifically. Saddles, blocks, string-lock hardware and tension plates from other Floyd Rose series are dimensioned for their own plates and do not interchange. Match the series exactly. If you are running a six-saddle, six-string setup, confirm the string count too — the spacing is not the same across configurations. When in doubt, measure the existing plate before ordering.
This replacement is hardened steel with a satin chrome finish, matching the original 1000 Series spec. The hardened steel matters at the knife edges: a softer base will wear faster and put you back at the same problem sooner. Part number FR1TBPSC.
If you are not certain this is the right plate for your guitar, send us the make, model and year and we will confirm before you order.
