The base plate is the structural core of the Floyd Rose 1000 Series tremolo — the machined foundation that the saddles, sustain block, string-lock hardware and tension plates all mount to. When a bridge will not return to pitch and the setup checks out, the knife edges on this plate are usually where the fault is. They are the wear surface the plate pivots on, and once they round over, no adjustment corrects it. This is the part that fixes that.
Fit is not flexible here. The 1000 Series plate is cut to its own dimensions, and saddles, blocks, string-lock hardware and tension plates from other Floyd Rose series are not interchangeable with it. If you are replacing a worn plate, the rest of the assembly has to be 1000 Series as well — mixing series leaves you with hardware that does not align. Count your strings and confirm your series before ordering.
This plate is hardened steel with a chrome finish. Hardened steel matters on the knife edges specifically: softer material rounds over faster under the load and return-to-pitch cycles a floating bridge sees in regular use. Part number FR1TBPC.
If you are not certain this is the correct plate for your guitar, send us the make, model and year and we will tell you before you order.
